Overview
This property was significantly challenged by grade, with a steep slope that limited both usability and overall enjoyment of the backyard. Following our consultation process, the vision was to transform the space into a more functional and elevated outdoor environment, one that would feel refined, low-maintenance, and tailored for everyday living.
The design introduced a new composite deck with a waterproofed understructure to create dry storage below, while also establishing an upper dining area with a clean, modern presence. An armour stone retaining wall was installed to correct the grade and unlock a more practical layout for the backyard. The space was further defined by a custom pool with integrated bench seating, a material palette of 3' x 3' slabs paired with a wood-look slab to bring warmth and texture, curated planting, and integrated outdoor lighting. The result is a sophisticated backyard retreat that balances structure, comfort, and elegance, both day and night.
